"There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy."

Friedrich Nietzsche.
Our bodies know how to keep us alive and well. They have innate wisdom, complex built-in mechanisms tinkered well by evolution, able to deal with the millions of tasks in the second without our mind's conscious participation. If we cut ourselves, our body doesn't ask for advice on dealing with the hurt; it just repairs and heals itself in the best possible way. We have excellent programs running in us to keep us warm, balanced, safe on the physical and psychological levels. Why do we get sick and not recover? Why are we stuck in unhappiness and cannot find the way out? What and why does hack our programs? Many books and theories exist about it, and there is no simple answer.
Here is the one possibility: our mind very often becomes our enemy. Our belief system, our family's and culture's, and social standards can give our minds many reasons to act against our bodies. Meantime, our mind can be and should be the tool to raise our body awareness instead. Our bodies know what is going on with us, so we should listen to them and understand our bodies. The body will tell you what food, when, and how much to eat, not a fancy diet. Learn what does bring your body joy and pleasure, but satisfaction( very different states of sensations). Pay attention to your body, and you will quickly learn the best way to rest or deal with the stress.
Raise body awareness is the primary goal of the Body Talk session. The client's most significant understanding from the session is that body awareness and self-awareness are crucial to healing.
